To be completely honest, I had rather recently learned what the Fountain of Nations was. The meaning behind it moved me! Such realness in the world of fantasy that is Disney, symbolic of unity flowing and mixing together in one place, where we can all just be who we are, and enjoy learning about the cultures of fellow humans!
And now they’re going to remove it? Specifically, given the climate of today?
When we needed you the most?
I’m rather surprised at the decision, and my recent attachment truly makes me lament its absence. The day I left, it was apparently...sayonara that night 😕
Don’t get me wrong- I’m thrilled with what they’re bringing to Epcot. I’m thrilled that they really are honoring Walt’s memory and vision with the “neighborhoods”, and y’all know I’m going to be BAWLING when I walk through the gates and see his statue. I used to be a Disney purist but have since learned the error of my ways (lol).
All I can say is I hope they at least honor this symbol as well, perhaps in an even more obvious way, and they don’t lose that message of togetherness (with the new fireworks show either, because Illuminations was rather moving in that regard as well). I’m excited for it all, and I trust them for the most part. I just want that ✨magic✨ to remain palpable 💕
