ISS and Moon imaging lectures

For my greatest honour to announce that we (@joannounicholas  and myself) will hold a series of 5 lectures in London, Westminster Library at Leicester Square. 
We will try cover the full width of this topics like minimum equipment requirements and settings, imaging techniques, planning ahead, image processing tricks and preparation for special occasions like ISS lunar/solar transits etc.

Ticket prices and ways of book your ticket will be announced soon!
Individual lectures can be booked as well, not necessarly needed to take part on all 5 lectures unless you would like to (and we hope you do 😉)! For example if you only interested in image processing, you can come and listen to that lecture only.

ISS and Moon imaging lectures

The Orion MPCV is an interplanetary spacecraft intended to carry a crew of four astronauts beyond low Earth orbit. Currently under development by NASA and ESA for launch on the Space Launch System, however launching ORION from a heavy falcon is also an option. Orion is intended to facilitate human exploration of the Moon, asteroids and of Mars and to retrieve crew or supplies from the International Space Station if needed.

Just having watched Brian Cox’s 3rd episode of #bbctheplanets, I thought I would take my @ioptron_telescopes star tracker out to capture some stars. Despite the light pollution in London, it’s still possible to clearly see major planets as well as many other stars. An almost full moon doesn’t help either but what the heck! I had a great time shooting this image from #parliamenthill looking out over #London with a cracking view of Saturn and Jupiter. Exposure was 3 minutes with the Nikon 20mm f1.8G lens. #astrophotography

Penjelasan: Apa yang menciptakan gunung yang tidak biasa ini? Ada teori baru. Ahuna Mons adalah gunung terbesar di asteroid terbesar yang diketahui di tata surya kita, Ceres, yang mengorbit matahari kita di sabuk asteroid utama antara Mars dan Jupiter. Ahuna Mons, sama sekali tidak seperti yang pernah dilihat manusia sebelumnya. Untuk satu hal, lerengnya bukan dihiasi dengan kawah tua, tetapi garis-garis vertikal muda. When NASAJuno spacecraft flew by 9,000 km (5,600 miles) above the most famous storm in the Solar System, Jupiter's Great Red Spot.

In the late 1800s, the storm was perhaps as wide as 35,000 miles four times the diameter of Earth. When the nuclear-powered spacecraft Voyager 2 flew by Jupiter in 1979, however, the storm had shrunk to a bit more twice the width of our own planet.
As of April 3, 2017, the GRS spanned the width of 10,159 miles (16,350 kilometers), less than 1.3 times Earth's diameter. Jupiter can sustain longer storms because the gas planet has tens of thousands of miles of atmosphere, and spins much faster than Earth.

In the late 1800s, the storm was perhaps as wide as 35,000 miles four times the diameter of Earth. When the nuclear-powered spacecraft Voyager 2 flew by Jupiter in 1979, however, the storm had shrunk to a bit more twice the width of our own planet.
As of April 3, 2017, the GRS spanned the width of 10,159 miles (16,350 kilometers), less than 1.3 times Earth's diameter. Jupiter can sustain longer storms because the gas planet has tens of thousands of miles of atmosphere, and spins much faster than Earth.
