‘If you can’t control it, let it go’ - anxiety & control go hand in hand for me. I would often find myself planning ahead down to the last second, not that it’s the worst thing, as strong organisation skills are highly beneficial to possess. The problem is, if something were to go wrong in my perfectly planned vision of events, I would absolutely lose my shit and get worked up over not having control over the situation😂.
Lately, I’ve been using a more relaxed wing it approach to my week ahead and I try to apply it to life too. I no longer get worked up about what my friends or peers are doing or what stage of their life they’re at in comparison. I used to look at who’s travelling, who’s making X career decision and get myself so worked up. By removing the need to have control and letting things flow, this anxiety that I held disappeared very quickly. .
It sounds cringey, but everyone really is on their own journey. It really does not matter what ANYONE else is doing. All that matters is that you are doing what you need to develop, grow & live a happy life✨#PMAMondays

I have just finished reading Sapiens few weeks ago and had this contemplating moment. Sapiens is a book about the evolution of humanbeing and the world within. In the last chapter, @yuval_noah_harari wrote about finding happiness. What actually makes Sapiens reach the state of being happy? It turns out that happiness is naturally attained when the biochemistry in our brain is transmitted which resulting certain chemical, such as dopamine , serotonin , and oxitocyn. Harari argues that there is no such thing as permanent happiness. The moment your brain transmits happiness chemical, you will feel happy. Hence, once you are facing an uncomfortable situation, the serotonin drops which will affect your state of happiness. In my humble conclusion, to be happy, we have to collect simultanious moments that can trigger the brain to continuously produce serotonin. We cannot rely onto material things or much of external factors. One example, many single out there might think if they get married, they may feel happier. While it may be true, this premise is not entirely valid. In fact, there are many married couples who are not satisfied with their marriage life. Which then leads to this: I believe it is not the marriage that makes people happy. It is about finding the compatible partner who can keep you in a peaceful state of mind. --- Yet, this part is the hardest. . Other example, cut the toxic relationship. Really. Don't settle for less. Leave it when it makes you question your self worth or second guess your life. Ditch what does not bring joy to your life. .

Whether this is true or not, depends on from which perspective you see it. 
Happiness is the state of mind is something I can't neglect. So, to be happy, one should start finding the beauty in simplicity and collect the moment of joy. However small it is. 
Keep the serotonin transmitted and stay sane!

Truth be told I’ve wanted to do this since Hudson was born- but finances and time were just always a factor. Self care can look like drinking coffee that’s hot- doing a face mask , cooking something special for my family ( sounds crazy but cooking is my self care) . Self care doesn’t necessary have to involve spending money. In fact after you have kids spending money on yourself becomes really difficult. This is a wonderful gift, I am lucky to have had this experience! I honestly can’t wait for this to happen again 🤞 .

I took the advice of others and booked for a time just after my kids had fallen asleep 😴 I waited in my robe and slippers - she came and set up the full table and linen experience in my family room- with a heating pad ! dimmed the lights and I had a 60 min massage 💆 After she left I crawled into bed. It felt like a DREAM . Wanna know what to get a new mom ? An in home massage .... that’s what she wants. And Food always bring her food.

I’ve been making this breakfast ‘Happy’ shake most mornings for a bit now and it definitely lifts my mood, must be all the serotonin in the bananas and the soothing oats. It’s amazing and I can’t believe it’s actually good for me because it tastes so good. You need a stick blender and a jug. You have to use the Barista edition @oatly as it foams up really well and makes it really thick and creamy. I’ve used the normal oatly before it’s a bit flat. Recipe for 1 shake: In a jug put in 2 bananas. 8floz barista @oatly oat milk. 1 teaspoon honey. 13g porridge oats ( I use Flahavan's Irish Organic because I like the taste and it’s creamy) blitz with the stick blender for a minute till it gets thick and creamy. I sprinkle some macca powder ( nothing to do with Sir Paul McCartney btw) on top or a dusting of raw cacao powder. I love #fermented foods, they contain #probiotics which are perfect for #gut #health as well as mental health! Intestines are the organs that synthesize ~90% of all the #serotonin hormone in our body. Serotonin is simply the #happiness hormone🕺. So, having a #healthy microbiota in the digestive tract is very crucial and probiotics do just that! I prefer my kefir plain, but sometimes I add various #coldpressed veggie/fruit juices to add some zest to it. I'm going plain with kombucha too, but next time I'm gonna add some juice concentrates to flavor it. It is highly fizzy and great when consumed chilled. 💯
