Emphasizing long term gratification over short term gratification is a huge key to success/happiness in life. This ranges from taking care of your body to saving money to investing in relationships.

For example: taking a couple years to focus on building a strong muscular body will make the remaining years of your life better as you focus on maintaining what you built rather than constantly teeter tottering with your body. Experimenting with lots of healthy foods to find a few you enjoy and can eat consistently and sustainably for the rest of your life will trump fad dieting 10 times out of 10. Saving or investing a certain percentage of your income and making this autonomous will limit money troubles in your future. Calling your friends and loved ones often will largely prevent a startling realization that you’ve let your relationships slip in the future.

For me, when I look back at pictures of just a year or more ago I am always stunned at how little he really was. And then I get sucked into a photo time warp 👋 like bye.

Here's a few steps towards letting go of your limiting beliefs and moving towards a life by design.

1. Define an area of your life you want to improve.
2. Write down what's stopping you from succeeding.
3. Identify WHY you believe that?
4. Look for evidence against them.
5. Visualise. What would life look like without that belief?
6. Change of perspective...what would you say to your best friend about this.
7. What is the pay-off to you holding this belief?
8. Make a decision to now let go of that limiting belief and replace it with an empowering belief which you write in present tense. 
9. Make your new empowering belief into your screensaver and read it several times a day.
10. Be aware if and when the limiting beliefs creep up and repeat the above steps. .

1. Define an area of your life you want to improve.
2. Write down what's stopping you from succeeding.
3. Identify WHY you believe that?
4. Look for evidence against them.
5. Visualise. What would life look like without that belief?
6. Change of perspective...what would you say to your best friend about this.
7. What is the pay-off to you holding this belief?
8. Make a decision to now let go of that limiting belief and replace it with an empowering belief which you write in present tense.
9. Make your new empowering belief into your screensaver and read it several times a day.
10. Be aware if and when the limiting beliefs creep up and repeat the above steps. .

Today on the blog, Michael is talking about mindfulness and a really impactful book on the subject. We're both working on being present and being in the moment. We were walking through Whole Foods and I noticed these cute wax flowers. I took a moment to browse and just admire them. Then we went for a walk in this cute little shipping center, phones down, holding hands, just Michael and I. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The thing about mindfulness is that once you start to practice it, your life starts to slow down. You start to appreciate the time you have and the people you surround yourself with. Try it! Practice being in the moment and put your phone down. Take a few deep breaths and take in your surroundings. When you start to do this, you'll feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the life you have and the breath in your lungs ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Who doesn’t love a sunset? But what about sunrises? They are beautiful too. It’s been 21 days (the entire month of August- not counting weekends) of this new morning routine of waking up with the sunrise 🌅 •
The Why?
• There are many reasons but the main one is to connect with  the rhythms of nature, have time to connect with myself when nobody else is awake and feeling like I’m seizing the day.
• What to do exactly?
Check out the at what time the sunrise is wherever  you are located. Set up the alarm the night before.
• I have noticed that since the Sunrise happens at an specific time- I’m not using my snooze button - which has been 👏🏻 a huge achievement. • once I’m up I wear comfortable clothes and head to make a tea.
• Sit on the floor for my mini #derosemethod practice that lasts 10 min. What you can do?
• set up the alarm for 2 min and first focus on what you are thankful for. The next 5 min focus on your breathing. You can use a simple rhythm like 1-2-1 (5 seconds to inhale, 10 seconds to retain the air in the lungs, 5 seconds to exhale) the. Set the alarm for 3 min and meditate. Focus on ONE ☝🏻 THING for 3 min. It could be an image of a beautiful sunrise, it could be a full moon, a still lake . You can also focus on sounds, the mantra OM or your own breathing.
• just 10 min to reconnect with yourself, develop your self awareness, mental clarity and intuition.
•Once you are done- pick up a journal 📓and write- about your intentions for the day. Daily affirmations, you feelings, what you want to manifest and why. If you swipe left you’ll see a pic of what my journal looks like- but it changes day to day.
• and you are done! 20 min!  then you can work out, work on  that side project that you have been putting off, or make a nice nurturing breakfast, listen to your audiobook - do whatever you want this is your own Sunrise Power Hr. • Try it! You don’t have to commit to do it for a month, you can commit for 1 week and see how you feel. Make up you set up your own rules, allow yourself to see what works and what doesn’t but you will never know if you don’t try it!
