What to do when you miss a week at the gym? By @oakleyoday

I used to think taking off a week was going to kill my progress and everything i have worked for up to this point would just disappear and i would have to start over.

However, over the years of educating and experiencing it in real life, i can gladly say, that’s not going to happen! 😂

You have 2 options after taking a week off:

Option 1️⃣: Quit because you already missed a week and think you lost all your gains. (This is just your way out and you’re really just using it as an excuse! 😜)
.
Option 2️⃣: Pick up where you left off and look at it from a positive perspective. Your body is fully recovered and it’s actually good to take off a full week once in awhile to maximize your gains. Just don’t do it every other week. 😁
.
All in all, taking one week off the gym will not kill your gains, just get back in the gym and pick up where you left off! 💪🏼

For the first time in ages, someone today asked me about why I decided to make a change to my life when I was at my heaviest. 
#
It's something I've shared about before, but perhaps something I should share more on with regards to my experience as I imagine others could well be going through a similar journey.
#
So here's something a bit more personal from me tonight.
#
One thing that stuck with me about remembering what it was like today, was how much I gained in all of it.
#
The education about eating for a fat loss outcome and also for long term health and wellbeing.
#
The power of simplicity- I changed one thing with my food and nothing else. I swapped a huge bowl of cereal I had every day after school for a caesar salad. I ate this every day for 18 months after school was done for the day.
#
The power of determination and how that feels when you really, truly want something. I was scared at 17 years old and it lit a fire under me. I had to tell people 'no, I wouldn't like any more *insert delicious food here*' including family, I was hungry sometimes, I did the things I knew I had to do when I didn't want to do them. This isn't to brag, just to show that they are a reality of change.

Lastly and perhaps one of the most powerful things I gained was confidence. I'm not one for showing off my body, it's just not something I'm that interested in doing, but I'm bloody proud of young me for just doing the best I could each day to move towards where I wanted to be. That whole proccess gave me confidence I could achieve the things I wanted to and not just when it came to the sports I love or the way my body looks.

So believe me when I say I've been there, done it and got the t shirt....and I'd take the same cards over again for the positive impact it's had on my life.

Progress Update:

It’s been an absolute uphill battle dealing with my stomach issues, and trying to continue, but I’ve been doing my best. Excuses only sound good to the ones saying them, and the work still needs to get put in until i figure out what the hell is going on. Ive lost well over 15 pounds dealing with this health stuff, but it’ll come back. There’s a quote out there that goes “Someone is praying for the life you have” and i hold that one high when i hit times like this. We’ll be back better than ever, and I’ve got the best support and coach anyone could ask for. I still have my double chin, so there’s still progress being made. We’ll get there @mbarbosa209

 Extensão de cotovelo com um trabalho excêntrico para o tríceps, utilizando uma banda elástica .  Neste exercício, estamos utilizando as propriedades elásticas da faixa de resistência, que não podemos obter ao trabalhar com pesos ou cabos.  O treinamento excêntrico cria força maior.
 O alongamento da banda permite que você resista excentricamente a 10% a 30% a mais de peso que você normalmente poderia suportar (concentradamente). .
 Ajuste o nível de resistência da banda à sua habilidade.  Depois de esticar a faixa, sua tensão deve ser maior que 1RM (repetição máxima), ou seja, nessa posição, a faixa de resistência é puxada tão apertada que você não consegue fazer nem uma contração concêntrica completa, só pode fazer contração excêntrica - de volta ao ponto de partida  posição (4-6 seg). .
 Quanto mais esticamos a banda, mais forte se torna sua resistência.

O objetivo é ajudá-lo a entender melhor como seu corpo se move, aprimorar sua compreensão e transferir esse aprendizado para o seu treino.  Procure um profissional de Educação Física qualificado.
