Hormones unfortunately have a lot to answer for and this stage in the cycle can leave many women feeling clumsy, weaker than usual or even shaky when training; all side effects of our hormonal fluctuations I’m afraid to tell you.

If these kinds of symptoms effect you, it’s important not to get stressed about them; the best thing you *can* do is support your body by practicing relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation (even taking a hot bath or listening to calming music can be beneficial) and ensuring proper recovery by getting plenty of sleep. Above all, you want to avoid getting frustrated with yourself.

If symptoms are particularly disruptive you may find it necessary to reduce your training load and / or volume in the week leading up to your period. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your body is reduce the intensity of your workouts and / or substitute some sessions for long, leisurely walks instead.

If you feel good enough to train, then absolutely go for it, but realise you’re not doing yourself any favours trying to smash in a workout when your body is flagging on a major level. Learn to provide your body with what it needs and trust me you’ll come back stronger - it’s only one week when all said and done.

4. 🍎🥬🥑🥥I sort of intermittent fast in that I don’t eat when I wake up, I make a couple of green tea tonics w nut milk, raw cacao & liquid stevia.  That way I’m giving digestion a rest from about 9pm until 12 or 1pm the next day.  Way flat tummy from this plus I can eat what I want rest of day...I just don’t eat gluten or processed sugar.  One of my meals is a Young Living Slique Shake from my essential oil line 😍🤪. Lots of fruits, veggies, avocados, nuts, smoothies etc!

Diabetes is something I have had for 23 years now. The best way to describe this disease is a roller coaster. One hour I can feel like I’m on top of the world and the next I can feel like I hit a wall. Does this define me? Absolutely not. I personally would rather wear 3 devices on my body and feel great most of the time (and not care what people think) than take shots, feel like crap from the insulin not absorbing (and care what people think). Always remember that it’s your life and your story. Sometimes we think “well maybe I can’t be like everyone else” but guess what? YOU CAN. It’s just going to take you a little longer and you have push a little harder whatever the case may be. Wearing the 670g and dexcomg6 gave me hope and dropped my A1C to a 7.0. Before I was on these devices I felt like I couldn’t be normal bc my sugar was so out of wack but being on a strict schedule and surrounding yourself with people who support you and love you is a game changer. I am able to drink some fitvine wine with my boyfriend and not have to worry if I am going to shoot really high or go really low in the middle of the night and I can most importantly watch my sugar at all times. If you need any tips or advice dm me and we can chat about what works and what doesn’t work. I love talking about it and tring new things as well. Have you ever planned a workout based on what's not currently hurting on your body? Lol. 
My knee has been bothering me, but it felt ok today, so I went with leg day. I focused on hamstrings and abductors/adductors. I was able to use a little heavier weight for most of my exercises so that means there's been some gsins going on. Whoot whoot!

I learned from competing that a well rounded physique includes a lot of training on your back and shoulder muscles to give you that “T shape” (wider at the top and slimmer through the middle).

I've always been a sportswoman, but golf was never really my sport haha I played netball, volleyball and tennis and still play tennis most weeks. After Corey started playing some golf for work events, I thought I'd get us a couple of lessons with a PGA pro and join the golf world. ⁠

To be a true badass you need to train your body and make it strong. Training can make you feel so damn good—it’s the best anti-depressant around.

It opens the pressure valve and releases the demons. It takes me out of my story, my life, and my problems.

It puts me into the moment. A single point of focus. One rep at a time. One set at a time.

I’m never more alive or more ready to take on the world than when I’m training.

Look at old people who don’t work out…they’re slouched and brittle.

And look at old people who’ve been training for years. They’re sprightly. They stand up straight. They smile. They look like they just got laid. They are able to outrun death one more day.

To be a true badass you need to train your body and make it strong. Training can make you feel so damn good—it’s the best anti-depressant around.

It opens the pressure valve and releases the demons. It takes me out of my story, my life, and my problems.

It puts me into the moment. A single point of focus. One rep at a time. One set at a time.

I’m never more alive or more ready to take on the world than when I’m training.

Look at old people who don’t work out…they’re slouched and brittle.

And look at old people who’ve been training for years. They’re sprightly. They stand up straight. They smile. They look like they just got laid. They are able to outrun death one more day.

Checkout this strong, beautiful woman!! This picture was taken just an hour or so before she pulled a very easy PR. (235-2x2) @sjleigh1 has been very consistent with her training. We have obviously made modifications along the way do to the front bump. But smart consistent training, with a focus on the technical aspects of each lift, has kept her healthy and feeling strong.

The goal of her training has been to continue to strengthen her posterior chain, pelvic floor, hips and core as much as possible, increase hip mobility as we can and overall keep moving.

It is SAFE to keep doing what you have been used to before pregnancy.

As we enter week 30 this video is the last ‘Heavy’ squat or DL she will complete. We will move into a phase of Light barbell, DBs, Bands, carries, pushes and drags. To continue with the goals previously mentioned.

I also must say if at anytime she feels like her body is telling her to stop doing something she has been instructed to STOP.  A regular training plan can be beneficial as long as momma and her physician are comfortable with it.

You know what I realized the other day. How truly happy I am in my own skin. Of course I have struggles of “nothing I own looks good” and “today I feel like a sack of potatoes” 🥔 but the day these pictures were taken, I felt truly and honestly happy with how I looked. Looks aren’t everything but I also feel pretty damn good too mentally. Sometimes, that is the best transformation of all. 🙌🏻

7 months ago I set a goal to squat 180lbs and deadlift 200lbs, TODAY I FINALLY DID IT 🏋️‍♀️ I did 30 squats and 5 deadlifts at my goal weight and I'm so proud! In December I started out squatting at 55 and deadlifting 65lbs and by May I was only 5lbs away from this goal. But I was pushing myself way too hard and it wasn't healthy or safe. 
So I took some weight off and have been slowly working at it for the last two months. Today instead of struggling I felt strong! 🎉 I'm so excited to see what the next 7 months will bring 💪

7 months ago I set a goal to squat 180lbs and deadlift 200lbs, TODAY I FINALLY DID IT 🏋️‍♀️ I did 30 squats and 5 deadlifts at my goal weight and I'm so proud! In December I started out squatting at 55 and deadlifting 65lbs and by May I was only 5lbs away from this goal. But I was pushing myself way too hard and it wasn't healthy or safe.
So I took some weight off and have been slowly working at it for the last two months. Today instead of struggling I felt strong! 🎉 I'm so excited to see what the next 7 months will bring 💪

Also thanks to the chalk, that came in just in time. I order liquid chalk. In my opinion I think it's better than the loose chalk. 🤷‍♀️ I only applied the liquid chalk once. Ooh no mess 👌
