Half of the people in this film have fled conflict.
All of them stand with refugees.
This #WorldRefugeeDay, watch Shakespeare’s powerful call to #StandWithRefugees - full film link in our bio.

400 years ago a group of writers collaborated on a historical play called Sir Thomas More. The script included one of the earliest and most impassioned defences of a compassionate refugee policy, an extract known as The Strangers’ Case, believed to be written by William Shakespeare. The speech is as relevant today as it ever was.

Shakespeare’s rallying cry for humanity called for empathy for French and Italian refugees who were banished from their homelands. This World Refugee Day, the International Rescue Committee and @the_globe theatre have brought that speech to life. #RefugeeWeek #RefugeesWelcome #Shakespeare #ShakespearesGlobe
