Another great exhib then grabbed a rug -bargain- from the shop. It did Ashur BP proud but I think he would have liked more emphasis on lion hunting & enemy flaying.

All the non Assyrians angry that these items are on display in the British museum. If you follow the comments of us Assyrians, you will see that we are more than thrilled by these items being in the museum. Better on display for people to learn who we are, than smashed to dust in Iraq. Thank you to the British museum for showing the world our history.

I loved the exhibition but I thought they neglected very important fact, which is " Assyrians people still exists till this day as a minority in that part of the world "in Syria & Iraq " the British museum should have thrown some light on these people and on there struggle to survive as a Christian minorities, let me draw everyone attention to an important fact about most of these magnificent pieces of artifacts which is : " Before & during the WW1 while these artifacts have been dug up from their ground and sent to Europe to be part of their newly established museums, and with the approval of the Ottomans who occupied that land, in the same time the Assyrian people with the Arminians and other Christians minorities were been slaughtered by the ottomans and were kicked out of their lands under the watching eyes of Europe and the west", we need to be brave and honest when it comes to writing human history and putting up magnificent historic exhibitions.
